Tax Free Calculator is a travel shopping utility for estimating VAT and GST refunds, storing trip receipt details, and checking published tourist refund rules. It is a planning tool and does not provide legal, tax, customs, accounting, or financial advice.
Information handled by the app
Purchase and trip details you enter
Amounts, countries, currencies, shops, notes, departure dates, reminder timing, and saved refund estimates may be stored locally on your device so the app can calculate refunds and organize receipts.
Receipt images you choose
If you select a receipt image, the app uses Apple's on-device Vision OCR to extract possible totals and text. You can review the result before saving it.
Local notification settings
If you schedule a trip reminder, the app asks iOS for notification permission and stores the reminder locally on your device.
Support messages
If you contact support, we receive the email address and message contents you choose to send.
Third-party services
- Apple Photos picker. Used only when you choose a receipt image to scan.
- Apple Vision. Used for on-device text recognition from selected receipt images.
- Apple UserNotifications. Used for local trip reminder notifications when enabled by the user.
- No analytics, ads, purchases, or crash reporting SDKs in this build. The app uses local Apple platform APIs and does not include third-party analytics, advertising, subscription, purchase, or crash reporting SDKs.
What we do not collect
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not collect payment card numbers or bank credentials.
- We do not upload receipt images, OCR text, purchase records, or trip records to SNTH servers.
- We do not collect analytics events or advertising identifiers in this build.
- We do not provide official tax, customs, legal, or accounting advice.
